I recently had a need to question a Blue Cross EOB. I spoke with Jana Stressel about it and was reminded of the quality job she does with the employees she deals with. I recall my reluctance to turn this service over to an outsider thinking no one would treat our employees like one of his or her own...Jana does. She makes you feel like she is glad you called, is empathetic yet thorough, and very responsive. She has an excellent understanding of Penn's medical plan, knows how to get answers out of the Blue Cross reps, and comes across as a personal advocate for the employees. It is not that I didn't know this from what several Penn employees have said, but I have never expressed it. Cowan should do whatever it can to retain Jana's service, and Penn should feel very comfortable that their employees' benefit questions and concerns are in excellent hands. By the way, I say all this fully expecting to have to pay a bill I would rather not, but at least now I understand why and feel all avenues are being pursued to avoid it.

There are so many services that Cowan provides. One of my favorites is the informational seminars that are held periodically. I like that I can pick up the phone or e-mail Richard Girdler, our account person, and he is there or gets back with me quickly. You all are doing a great job.
